
Finished making this table last week. Made from solid white oak, 43″ high by 23″ wide. It was designed to fit into a small space in a condo kitchen as shown below.

Started with a few sketches, and got the go-ahead for this design.


This a close-up of the legs during construction, which is a mortised half lap joint which gives the table stability and strength, used this technique for under the table top as well. I cut a 10 degree taper on the feet rather than the curved feet on the sketch so it varies slightly from the original drawing but it works all the same.
The finish is a golden oak stain followed by a few coats of varnish to match the existing finishes in the condo.
