Making of laundry storage unit

laundry-unit1

Finished this project last week, made a unit for a laundry room in a condo.  The unit had to hold various items including clothes, detergent containers and an ironing board. The space was approximately 23″ wide by 70″ high by 24″ deep, decided to put the unit on castors to allow for easy access to a panel at the back. If you don’t have a lot of space, consider using castors on furniture, makes it a lot easier to move stuff around and makes cleaning a lot easier.

Here’s an earlier photo of the construction, went with spuce plywood for the cabinet and reclaimed mahogany for the face frame.

The shelves are adjustable and I gave a 4″ inch space for an ironing board on the left side.

Here it is after finishing with a red chestnut stain and a few coats of varnish.

Wow! I really love the idea! I might consider your idea once my old top loading washing machine is broken and replace with a front loading to stack washer and dryer like that.
Right now my condo’s laundry room is small and is like a storeroom/laundry/cat’s room
