Round Dining Table Refinishing

Refinished this table top recently. Started by removing all the original finish followed by lots of sanding. Working up from coarse to finer grits in stages. Before stripping the top, made a stain sample for the client using a scrap piece of oak (same as the table) to match the original finish, did this before removing any finish. It’s best to spent a bit of time on the sample and do it exactly in the same sequence as the sanding of the piece itself. It is also useful visual aid to keep track of the colour, especially if it’s a custom mix.

Filled any small cracks and holes.

After final sanding.

After staining and top coating with lacquer.
